New Toilet Installation

Service Description

A Diligent Craftsman will install your new toilet by following the following installation process: 1. Turn off water and remove the old toilet - Shut off the supply valve and drain the tank and bowl. - Disconnect the supply line and unbolt the toilet from the floor. - Lift the old toilet away and remove the old wax ring and any debris around the flange. 2. Inspect and prepare the flange - Check that the flange is solid, level, and at the correct height. - Replace or repair the flange if it’s damaged or loose. - Install new closet bolts in the flange to anchor the toilet. 3. Set the new wax ring or seal - Position a new wax ring or wax‑free seal on the flange or on the toilet outlet. - Ensure the seal is centered to prevent leaks. 4. Position and secure the toilet - Lower the toilet straight down onto the bolts, compressing the seal. - Press firmly to seat it, then tighten the nuts evenly to avoid cracking the porcelain. - Check that the toilet is level and stable. 5. Reconnect the water supply - Attach the supply line to the fill valve and the shutoff valve. - Turn the water back on and allow the tank to fill. 6. Test for leaks and proper operation - Flush several times to confirm the seal is tight and the toilet drains correctly. - Inspect around the base and supply line for any moisture. - Caulk around the base if desired for stability and easier cleaning.
