Service Description

A Diligent Craftsman will install your fixtures by performing the following: 1. Assess the fixture and the mounting location - Confirm the new fixture is compatible with the existing electrical box and mounting bracket. - Check that the box is rated to support the fixture’s weight, especially for ceiling installations. - Review placement, orientation, and any customer preferences. 2. Shut off power and verify safety Turn off the circuit at the breaker panel. Use a voltage tester at the switch or junction box to confirm the power is fully off. Remove the existing fixture if one is present, exposing the electrical box and wiring. 3. Prepare the electrical box and wiring - Inspect the box for secure attachment and adequate space for wiring. - Tighten or replace the mounting strap or bracket if needed. - Ensure the supply wires (hot, neutral, ground) are in good condition and long enough to work with. 4. Connect the fixture wiring - Match wires: hot to hot, neutral to neutral, ground to ground, using wire connectors. - Tuck wires neatly into the box to avoid pinching. - Attach any included grounding screw or strap if required by the fixture design. 5. Mount and secure the fixture - Align the fixture base or canopy with the mounting bracket. - Fasten it using the provided screws or decorative nuts. - Confirm the fixture is level, flush, and firmly supported. 6. Install bulbs, shades, and accessories - Add bulbs with the correct wattage rating. - Attach glass, covers, or decorative elements included with the fixture. 7. Restore power and test - Turn the breaker back on. - Test the switch to confirm proper operation. - Make final adjustments and clean the work area.
